At Smile Ninja Dental & Orthodontics, we want to help older teenagers and adults get the smile they deserve without spending a fortune. This is why we offer CandidPro™ in Fort Worth, TX. This is a less expensive alternative to Invisalign and an easier method than traditional braces.
If you choose to use CandidPro™, we can either ship your clear aligners directly to you, or you can pick them up at our office. Your treatment time will range from 6 to 12 months. During that time, you’ll scan your teeth remotely so we can review your progress.

The process starts with an exam consultation by one our Doctors who will decide, based on your exam and x-rays, whether CandidPro™ is right for you.
The next step is planning your smile and taking impressions of your teeth and gums. These impressions or molds are used to create your clear brace aligners.
One aspect of CandidPro™’s treatment that we love most is CandidMonitoring. It’s an amazing piece of dental technology that gives us an unprecedented look into your treatment progress and general oral health. Here's how it works:
- You get a notification on CandidApp every 14 days to scan your teeth
- You’ll slot your own smartphone into CandidScan, follow the simple instructions to scan your teeth, and submit the scans to your doctor all within CandidApp
- Within 24 hours you get a notification telling you what to do next
- You’ll scan every 14 days until your treatment is complete

Are clear aligners better than normal braces?
There are pros and cons to both, and it depends on the patient's needs. Clear aligners are preferred by patients generally since they are not visible and can also be taken out at any time. The great part about our clear aligners is that you are generally done in 12 months with your treatment and you don't have to come to the office for monthly visits, as you do with traditional braces. You easily wear the aligners 23 hours a day, taking them out only to eat. But that can be a downside if a person isn't responsible enough to put them back in. They can also be lost when taken out to eat or get thrown away accidentally. We have even heard of them being eaten by an animal such as a dog.
Clear aligners are great for mild cases but some cases can be too complicated for clear aligners. Traditional braces would then be the option we would choose.
Traditional braces are most commonly used with children since there are no clear aligners for children as their mouth is still forming. Braces are also used in more complicated cases that require a lot of adjustment to the teeth's position such as, raising and rotating teeth or fixing the midline. Both are great options for orthodontics and we utilize both in our offices. Neither are better than the other when applied properly to the patient's needs.
